About The Role

Mobile Chemist

The Role

We are looking for a Mobile Chemist to manage the safe assessment, collection and transportation of hazardous waste from customer sites to authorised waste facilities.

As Mobile Chemist, you’ll work directly with customers to identify, segregate, label and package waste in line with current UK legislation. You’ll prepare the required documentation, organise collections and ensure waste is loaded, transported and unloaded safely.

This is a practical, customer-facing role that combines technical chemistry knowledge with driving and on-site waste handling. It would suit someone who can work independently, make sound safety decisions and maintain high standards of compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Mobile Chemist, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Visiting customer sites to assess, segregate, label and package hazardous waste
  • Ensuring waste is packaged safely and is suitable for transportation
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate hazardous waste documentation
  • Compiling lists of waste requiring collection and disposal
  • Organising collections from customer sites and deliveries to authorised waste facilities
  • Safely loading and unloading waste using appropriate material-handling equipment
  • Driving a company vehicle to transport waste for disposal
  • Maintaining an adequate supply of packaging materials at customer sites
  • Supporting the Small Collections and administration teams with customer quotations
  • Communicating collection details and documentation requirements clearly to internal teams
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with customers
  • Following all relevant hazardous waste, transport and environmental legislation
  • Complying with health and safety procedures at customer and waste disposal sites
  • Assessing the potential safety, environmental and operational impact of hazardous materials
  • Working independently while escalating any risks or compliance concerns appropriately

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
