Salary: £17.50 per hour + overtime opportunities (Contractual pay rise in October 2026)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 7:30am–3:00pm
- Wednesday: 7:30am–4:00pm
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Company Van: Provided – and kept by you
Annual Leave: 20 days + Public Holidays

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Mobile Cleaning Supervisor to lead our mobile cleaning team across the London Fire Brigade estate.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in delivering high standards and wants to develop their career within Facilities Management.
You'll lead a team of 10 Mobile Cleaning Operatives – 7 core team members and 3 relief operatives – travelling across London and delivering a range of planned and periodic cleaning activities.
This is a working supervisor role, so you'll lead from the front: organising the team, checking standards and managing day-to-day delivery while working alongside your team when required.
For the right person, this role can also be a genuine stepping stone into a Service Support Manager position and further management opportunities within Mitie.

What will you be responsible for?
As our Mobile Cleaning Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational delivery of our mobile cleaning team across London Fire Brigade locations.
You'll manage a team consisting of 7 core Mobile Cleaning Operatives and 3 Relief Cleaning Operatives, ensuring work is properly planned, completed safely and delivered to the required standard.
You'll be trusted to take ownership of your team and your workload.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Leading, motivating and supporting a team of 10 Mobile Cleaning Operatives
- Planning and coordinating daily and scheduled cleaning activities across multiple locations
- Working alongside the team to complete cleaning activities when required
- Coordinating and supporting deep cleans, periodic cleans and specialist cleaning tasks
- Carrying out regular quality inspections and ensuring cleaning standards are consistently achieved
- Making sure planned cleaning schedules are completed on time
- Training, coaching and supporting team members to improve performance
- Supporting the onboarding and training of new employees
- Ensuring Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work are followed
- Managing cleaning materials, consumables, equipment and stock
- Ensuring equipment is correctly used, maintained and stored
- Coordinating the mobile team effectively across London
- Building strong working relationships with London Fire Brigade colleagues and other stakeholders
- Using Mitie systems, mobile applications and email to manage operational activity
- Identifying problems early and taking action to resolve them
- Looking for opportunities to improve standards, productivity and the way the service is delivered
- Escalating operational issues to management where additional support is required

What are we looking for?

What's most important is that you're reliable, organised, confident leading people and passionate about delivering a great service.
You'll Ideally Have
- Experience working within the cleaning industry
- Previous experience as a Cleaning Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Cleaner or similar
- Experience leading or supporting a cleaning team
- Confidence communicating with employees and customers
- Good knowledge of professional cleaning standards
- The ability to organise people and workloads across different locations
- A hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside your team
- Good attention to detail and high personal standards
- The ability to work independently and make sensible day-to-day decisions
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Basic confidence using smartphones, email and operational systems
- A proactive attitude – if you see a problem, you look for a solution
- A positive approach to coaching and developing people
Essential Requirements
- A valid clean UK driving licence is essential.
- A company van is provided and will be kept by the successful candidate, allowing you to travel between London Fire Brigade locations as part of your role.
- Due to the environment you'll be working within, successful applicants will also be required to successfully complete the relevant Enhanced DBS and vetting requirements.
