About The Role
As a Senior Mobile Developer at Mecca Brands, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining high-performance mobile applications that enhance our customer experience. Your expertise in React Native, combined with a strong understanding of native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) development, will be essential in delivering scalable and reliable mobile solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, QA engineers, and backend developers to translate business requirements into innovative mobile features. Your work will directly impact how our customers interact with our brand, ensuring that every touchpoint is seamless, secure, and engaging.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in mobile engineering, with a strong focus on React Native development in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Expo, including Expo Modules, config plugins, and native app configuration.
- Proficiency in native iOS development using Swift and Android development using Kotlin, with a solid understanding of platform APIs, app permissions, push notifications, deep linking, and release workflows.
- Experience in building and maintaining shared component libraries or design systems for mobile applications.
- Deep knowledge of mobile UI engineering, including responsive layouts, animations, accessibility, and performance optimization.
- Practical experience with server-state management tools such as TanStackQuery, caching strategies, invalidation, and optimistic updates.
- Familiarity with client-state libraries like Zustand, and understanding when to separate client state from server state.
- Experience writing automated tests for mobile applications using tools such as Detox, Maestro, Appium, Jest, or React Native Testing Library.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, feature flags, build automation, and mobile app release management.
- Proven track record of successfully shipping apps to the App Store and Google Play, including compliance, staged rollouts, crash reporting, and post-release support.
- Excellent communication skills, strong technical judgment, and the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Practical knowledge of AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance development, testing, debugging, and documentation processes.
Nice to have qualifications include experience working with .NET or C# backends, exposure to AI/ML concepts, familiarity with observability tools like Datadog or New Relic, and experience with serverless or container-based deployment architectures in AWS. A background in e-commerce platforms and familiarity with shift-left testing approaches such as TDD and QA-as-code will be advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile applications using React Native, ensuring code quality and scalability.
- Bridge native modules with iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) to optimize app performance and capabilities.
- Implement best practices for app security, including OAuth, JWT, biometric authentication, and privacy standards compliance.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and QA teams to translate business requirements into functional mobile features.
- Integrate mobile applications with backend systems and cloud services via REST APIs to ensure reliable data exchange and performance.
- Adopt a test-first approach by developing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure app stability and quality.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable, and low-risk releases.
- Monitor and optimize app performance through profiling, debugging, and real-time monitoring tools.
- Participate actively in code reviews, architecture discussions, and team retrospectives to foster continuous improvement.
- Share knowledge, mentor peers, and stay current with the latest trends in mobile development and emerging technologies.
