Not a Fan of Standing Still?

Good. Neither are we.

We're looking for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join our Pulse Team. A unique mobile role that gives you the chance to work across a variety of Leightons practices, meet different teams, and help patients across multiple communities, all while maintaining the clinical and customer care standards we're known for.

If you love optics but want more variety, more independence and a change of scenery from the same four walls every day, this could be the perfect next step.

What is Pulse?

Think of Pulse as the heartbeat of Leightons.

Our Pulse Dispensing Opticians provide support across our practices, helping with holiday cover, additional clinics, practice support and short-term requirements.

You'll work within a pre-agreed travel radius of up to 1 hour 30 minutes from your home address, supporting Leightons practices where your expertise is needed most. No surprises, no excessive travel, just flexibility and variety built around a defined territory.

Best of all? Every store has its own personality, patient demographic and frame collections, meaning no two days are ever quite the same.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
