Mobile Electrical Technician
Location: Based in Manchester, covering sites across Salford and Manchester.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working eight hours per day with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break. Start and finish times are agreed locally between 7am and 7pm.
Travel of up to one hour before and after your working day is expected in your own time. You'll also be required to work Saturdays as part of a rota and respond to call-outs, breakdowns and emergencies as required.
About The Role
We're looking for a skilled Mobile Electrical Technician to deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and electrical installation works across our Facilities Management contracts. You'll help keep electrical plant and building systems safe, reliable and operating efficiently, ensuring work meets engineering standards and contractual requirements.
You'll diagnose and rectify faults, maintain lighting and distribution systems, and repair electrical controls associated with heating and ventilation equipment. Working closely with clients, colleagues and specialist subcontractors, you'll respond promptly to maintenance requests and maintain accurate records of completed work.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled electrical PPM, maintaining engineering standards to maximise the reliability and operational effectiveness of plant and associated systems.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, including repairs to lighting, distribution systems and electrical controls associated with heating and ventilation equipment.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and helpdesk requests, coordinating initial actions and attending call-outs, breakdowns and emergencies, including support for other building services where required.
- Undertake electrical installation, testing and inspection works, identifying requirements for replacements, additional works and opportunities to extend the services provided.
- Coordinate visiting specialist subcontractors, communicate with clients and service providers, attend site meetings and provide reports on work and equipment.
- Follow health and safety and site quality assurance procedures, maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting documentation.

What We're Looking For
- A completed electrical apprenticeship and City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 in Electrical Installation, or an equivalent qualification, together with AM2 or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2391 and/or 2394 in Inspection and Testing, or equivalent, and an 18th Edition qualification.
- Experience of electrical maintenance, including building PPM, fault diagnosis and rectification, electrical installation, testing and inspection.
- Relevant health and safety training and a commitment to safe working practices.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience of CAFM systems and helpdesk services, the ability to complete Electrical Installation and Minor Works Certificates, basic mechanical knowledge and PAT testing experience would further support your application.
