About the Role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mobile Engineer (iOS) based in the United Kingdom.
As a Mobile Engineer (iOS), you will play a key role in building a next-generation mobile experience powered by advanced AI capabilities. You will own the iOS application from concept to production, creating intuitive, high-performance features that enable users to complete real-world tasks with minimal effort. Working alongside backend, machine learning, and product teams, you will design seamless AI-driven interactions while ensuring exceptional reliability, responsiveness, and usability. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges, influence product direction, and contribute to innovative mobile experiences in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote-first environment.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Build and integrate AI-powered features through backend APIs, delivering seamless and intuitive user experiences.
- Design user interaction patterns for AI features, including streaming responses, loading states, retries, and graceful error handling.
- Optimize application performance, memory consumption, battery efficiency, and overall responsiveness across a wide range of iOS devices.
- Capture user behavior and product feedback to support AI model evaluation and continuous product improvements.
- Collaborate closely with backend, machine learning, and product teams to define APIs, improve system behavior, and deliver production-ready features.
- Maintain high standards for application stability, code quality, monitoring, and App Store readiness.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and continuously improve application reliability and performance.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing iOS applications using Swift.
- Strong hands-on experience with SwiftUI, asynchronous programming (async/await), concurrency, and background task management.
- Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade iOS applications.
- Experience integrating AI-powered features or intelligent backend services into mobile applications.
- Solid understanding of iOS performance optimization, memory management, and battery efficiency best practices.
- Familiarity with mobile architectures, RESTful APIs, SQL and/or NoSQL databases, and modern development workflows.
- Exposure to CoreML, TensorFlow Lite, or other on-device machine learning technologies is considered an advantage.
- Experience with feature flagging, remote configuration systems, or experimentation frameworks is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a user-centric approach to designing trustworthy AI interactions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and distributed teams.
