Location: Walsall WS1 / Birmingham
Salary: Up to £46,000 per annum + Company Van
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
The Opportunity
Trevett Services are recruiting for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a national engineering team delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial and retail properties.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong air conditioning and HVAC experience to join a growing business that invests in its people, provides ongoing training and offers genuine long-term career progression.
You'll be responsible for ensuring HVAC systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational whilst delivering a first-class service to clients across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Planned & Reactive Maintenance
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of HVAC equipment.
- Service, maintain and repair:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), VRV / VRF Systems, Split Systems, Chillers
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across HVAC plant.
- Complete repairs efficiently whilst maintaining high first-time fix rates.

Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all work complies with current legislation, SFG20 maintenance standards and company procedures.
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation using CAFM systems.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and compliance documentation.
Remedial Works
- Identify remedial works during maintenance visits.
- Provide clear technical reports and recommendations.
- Escalate plant issues where further works are required.
Asset & Equipment Management
- Maintain company van stock, tools and testing equipment.
- Ensure all company equipment is maintained and stored correctly.
- Participate in the on-call rota when required.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, HVAC or equivalent
- F-Gas Category 1
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Proven experience maintaining commercial HVAC systems.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience working to SFG20 planned maintenance schedules.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- ACRIB Gold Skills Card
- Electrical Qualifications Or Electrical Maintenance Knowledge
- Asbestos Awareness
- Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) experience
- Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) experience
- Experience maintaining larger commercial or critical plant including: Chillers, Large Air Handling Units, Critical HVAC systems
- Five years' experience within a similar commercial HVAC role.
