About The Role

This full-time, permanent Mobile Hydraulic Hose Engineer role covers Ellesmere Port and the wider North West, delivering on-site hydraulic hose replacement and breakdown support to industrial clients. The position suits someone with hands-on experience in hydraulic hose assembly, fault diagnosis and repair, who is comfortable working independently at customer sites. About The Role

Are you an experienced hydraulic hose engineer looking for your next opportunity?

The company is looking for a Mobile Hose Sales Engineer to join their team and provide hydraulic hose and breakdown services to customers across the North West.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be out on the road visiting customer sites, diagnosing hydraulic problems, making and fitting replacement hoses, and getting machinery back up and running as quickly as possible.

Alongside the engineering side of the role, you'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with customers, develop new business and grow your own customer base, with commission available on top of your basic salary.

You'll be based from our Ellesmere Port depot, with tools provided for your work and a van when on call.

What you'll be doing - Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Attending customer sites across the North West to deal with hydraulic breakdowns.
  • Diagnosing hydraulic faults and identifying the cause of failures.
  • Measuring, manufacturing and assembling hydraulic hoses.
  • Repairing, replacing and servicing hydraulic components and hoses.
  • Testing hoses and hydraulic systems to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose.
  • Providing professional advice and practical solutions to customers.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop new business and grow your customer base.
  • Taking part in our shared out-of-hours on-call rota.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is practical, dependable and confident dealing with customers, with a solid understanding of hydraulic systems.

Essential

  • Previous experience manufacturing and fitting hydraulic hoses.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions when attending customer sites.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, hardworking and honest approach.

Desirable

  • Experience working as a mobile/service engineer.
  • Experience working with plant, agricultural, construction, industrial or similar hydraulic equipment.

Don't have formal sales experience? That's not necessarily a problem. If you're a strong hydraulic engineer who enjoys dealing with customers and would like the opportunity to develop the commercial side of your career, we'd still like to hear from you.

The on-call rota

The normal working week is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. You'll also participate in a shared 24/7 on-call rota. (every 1 week in 3)

We understand that being on call is an important consideration, which is why out-of-hours work is paid at a premium rate.
