Mobile Maintenance Assistant

Location: Greater Manchester - Chadderton
Salary: £27,000 + Van and Fuel Card

Brief

Mobile Maintenance Assistant needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Greater Manchester who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Maintenance Assistant that takes pride in their work with knowledge of maintenance, basic fabric handyperson skills and health and safety procedures.

What the Role Entails

Some of the main duties of the Mobile Maintenance Assistant will include:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager
  • To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by Maintenance Manager, in line with requests sent via PDA/mobile devices
  • To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns and ensure all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner
  • To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms.
  • Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the estate
  • Responsible for ensuring cleaning materials and chemicals are available at all sites
  • Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break plus participation in the on-call rota (1 in 8 which includes weekends).

What Experience You Need

  • Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable
  • Good customer care and people skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or unsupervised
  • Basic fabric handyperson skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester
  • Due to the nature of the contract, successful postholder must be able to obtain and maintain security vetting
