Job Description

Mobile Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical Bias)

Location: Bristol & South West Region (Mobile Role)

Salary: Competitive + Company Vehicle + Overtime + Call-Out Allowance

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Mobile Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of client sites.

This is a field-based role covering multiple locations across Bristol and the South West, so travel is a core part of the position. You'll play a key role in ensuring building services systems are maintained safely, efficiently and in full compliance, while delivering a professional, customer-focused service.

If you enjoy fault-finding, problem-solving and working independently while still being part of a strong team, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with genuine opportunities for development and progression.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a variety of commercial buildings and client environments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical and building services systems
  • Fault-finding and diagnosing issues across HVAC plant and associated equipment
  • Responding to plant and equipment failures and carrying out repairs as required
  • Monitoring and responding to BMS alarms and utilising systems for first-line diagnostics
  • Maintaining electrical, mechanical and water system logbooks and compliance records
  • Completing maintenance tasks accurately through the CAFM system (simPRO), including photographic evidence
  • Undertaking regular plant room inspections and building walk-rounds
  • Supporting specialist subcontractors and monitoring service delivery when on site
  • Carrying out minor installation works and system improvements
  • Identifying potential hazards and escalating concerns appropriately
  • Maintaining safe working practices and compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Building positive relationships with clients and end users through excellent customer service

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
