About The Role
We're looking for a skilled Mobile Mechanical Technician with domestic and commercial gas expertise to join our Mobile Support Team. Reporting to the Mobile Support Supervisor, you'll deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and additional works across our Facilities Management contracts, helping keep boilers, heating plant and associated mechanical systems safe, reliable and efficient.

Working closely with clients, colleagues and specialist subcontractors, you'll provide technical support and accurate reporting, ensuring work meets contractual deadlines, engineering standards and health and safety requirements.
Our Environment
You'll work across client sites, supporting the delivery of safe, compliant and well-maintained buildings through our mobile Facilities Management service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM, reactive maintenance and emergency repairs on domestic and commercial gas appliances, oil-fired equipment, boilers, heating and ventilation systems and associated mechanical plant.
- Diagnose faults and assess combustion performance using gas analysers, maintaining engineering standards to improve plant efficiency, reliability and operational performance.
- Deliver additional works, minor projects and plant replacements, identifying remedial requirements and opportunities to improve or extend the services provided.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and quality assurance records, providing clear reports on equipment condition, lifecycle requirements, estimated repair times and chargeable works.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, coordinate visiting specialist subcontractors and provide technical advice to support service delivery.
- Work safely in accordance with site procedures and health and safety requirements, meeting PPM and reactive deadlines and participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
