Mobile Multi Skilled Operative – Quarry
Location: Park Quarry | Mobile role across the Caledonian region
Looking for a practical, hands-on role where no two days are the same?

We’re recruiting a Mobile Multi Skilled Operative to support quarry operations across multiple sites in the Caledonian region, based from Tarmac Park Quarry, Nairn, Inverness. The role involves operating a range of mobile and static plant and supporting safe, efficient production of construction materials.
This role is easily accessible from Inverness, Nairn, Forres, Ardersier, Culloden, Smithton and surrounding areas. A company van is provided due to multi-site working.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of a skilled operational team, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of quarry operations, including:
- Operating quarry plant and machinery such as loading shovels, excavators and processing plant
- Supporting mobile and static plant operations
- Carrying out day-to-day maintenance, inspections and excellent housekeeping
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure quality materials and on-time deliveries
- Championing a zero-harm safety culture and following site H&S systems
- Supporting weighbridge and general site duties where required (Full training provided)
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to tick every box - attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as experience. Ideally you will have operational experience gained within a quarry, aggregates or heavy plant environment but we will consider other heavy industries. You will also have:

- Experience operating loading shovel, excavator or quarry plant (preferred)
- A flexible, team-focused mindset with strong safety awareness
- Good communication skills and the confidence to raise issues
- Awareness of risk assessments, SSOW / permits (preferred)
- Basic IT skills
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Relevant plant licences (advantageous but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence (company vehicle is provided with role)
Working Pattern
- Mobile role across Caledonian sites
- Flexibility required to meet production needs
- Occasional Saturday morning working
