The Role
Maintenance and repair of our mechanical equipment both in our workshop locations and UK job sites.
What You'll Be Doing
- Be prepared to travel within the UK at short notice.
- Be prepared to travel overseas with some notice – either to job site or OEM visit.
- Work in accordance with local, site, company, and UK rules and regulations – H&S and Environmental.
- Follow OEM instructions and communicate these together with any relevant MS and RA to those working with you.
- Be conversant with hydraulic and electrical drawings.
- Rig and de-rig BSL owned equipment as required following OEM instruction.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, basic electrical, and engine problems in a timely and methodical manner using all available information and support.
- Basic knowledge of telematics systems fitted to our equipment.
- Undertake inspections of plant and equipment as required using templates.
- Basic welded repairs as required (non-structural).
- Basic flame cutting as required.
- Work as part of a team whether in workshop or on site.
- Complete a timesheet daily and submit within 24 hrs.
- Maintain log of personal tools.
- Maintain company vehicle in accordance with company policy handbook.
- Report all incidents, accidents, or suggestions for improvement through BAC APP.
- Ensure the Company’s core values are embedded in all decisions made and shape your behavior.

What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship (e.g. Construction Plant) or equivalent Level 2 (min) NVQ.
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Worked with heavy plant machinery previously.
- Understanding of telematics.
- Good knowledge of the drilling and concreting processes on a ground engineering site.
- Good knowledge of instrumentation systems; Jean Lutz/B-Tronic/DMS etc.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems.
- SMSTS / IOSH.
