Mobile Plant Fitter

Exeter
£15 - £17 + Overtime (1.5x) + Company Vehicle + Tool Allowance

About the Company

Due to continued growth, we are working with a leading plant and construction equipment specialist that is expanding its Mobile & Workshop Fitter team. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality equipment and support services across major projects, they are looking for a motivated and hands-on Mobile Plant Fitter to join their growing operation.

The Role

As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and supporting a wide range of construction, earthmoving, and agricultural equipment across customer and project sites.

Working as part of the wider major projects team, you will carry out scheduled maintenance, preventative servicing, inspections, and consumable replacement to ensure equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational.

Equipment includes:

  • Excavators
  • Articulated Dump Trucks (ADTs)
  • Dozers
  • Telehandlers
  • Compaction Equipment
  • Agricultural Machinery

Key responsibilities include:

  • Routine servicing in line with manufacturer specifications and schedules
  • Lubricant and fluid monitoring and replenishment
  • Preventative maintenance and condition monitoring
  • Fault identification and reporting
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing equipment for transfer or redeployment
  • Fitting replacement parts and consumables
  • Supporting larger maintenance and repair projects alongside fellow engineers

There will also be opportunities to work with the company's digital solutions team, assisting with the installation of:

  • GPS Systems
  • Human Form Recognition Cameras
  • Height and Slew Restrictors
  • Other innovative plant technology solutions

Full product training and support will be provided.

The Candidate

  • Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of plant machinery
  • Experience servicing and maintaining plant, construction, or agricultural equipment
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Ability to complete routine maintenance to a high standard
  • Understanding of risk assessments and method statements
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment
  • Team player with a proactive approach and willingness to get stuck in

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or working towards)
  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Right to Work in the UK
