The Opportunity
Looking for a role where no two days are the same, working with some of the largest heavy mobile equipment in Europe, in one of the UK’s most unique quarrying environments? At Glensanda Super Quarry, we’re on the lookout for an experienced Heavy Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team on a 7 on 7 off rotation. This isn’t just another maintenance job – it’s a chance to work on massive Caterpillar and other HME machinery in a one-of-a-kind coastal quarry that helps keep the nation building.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, and repairs to heavy mobile plant equipment.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Welding, cutting, and fabricating to keep equipment in safe working order.
- Supporting breakdown response to keep downtime to a minimum.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring all work meets H&S and compliance standards.
- Setting the standard for housekeeping, keeping workshops clean, safe, and organised.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient site operations.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in heavy plant maintenance, with welding, cutting, and fabricating skills.
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of plant electrical systems and repairs.
- Strong communication and team working skills, with a can-do attitude.
- Organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise under pressure.
- IT literacy and comfort working with modern workshop systems.
- Experience with any of the following: Caterpillar, Hitachi, Volvo or Komatsu knowledge would be a big plus.
