Job Role of the Mobile Plant Fitter
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a well-established and growing heavy plant business covering the March and Peterborough area.
Working a days-only shift, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant machinery at customer sites, ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable company that invests in its engineers and offers long-term career progression.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience carrying out servicing, planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on customer sites.
- Full UK driving licence.

Essential Requirements
- Experience working on equipment such as excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, loading shovels, rollers or similar heavy plant.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently and provide a high standard of customer service.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Field Service Engineer or Heavy Plant Mechanic.
- Manufacturer training or experience with leading plant brands such as JCB, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi or Liebherr.
