Role Description
The Mobile Plant Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based across the UK. This role involves carrying out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mobile plant and associated machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults
- Replacing worn or damaged parts
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Completing accurate service records

The mechanic will work closely with site teams to minimize downtime, follow health and safety procedures, and support the mobilization and demobilization of plant across various job sites. The role may involve working outdoors in varying conditions and occasional travel to other UK locations as required.

Qualifications
- Strong mechanical maintenance skills with experience working on mobile plant, heavy machinery, or similar equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults on mobile plant, crushing and screening equipment.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of and commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards within industrial and construction environments.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other sites when required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in quarrying, construction, or contract crushing and screening operations is an advantage.
