Role Description

The Mobile Plant Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Guisborough. The technician will carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of mobile plant equipment, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable, and compliant with relevant standards. The role also involves:

  • Maintaining accurate service records
  • Following company procedures
  • Communicating clearly with supervisors and customers about work completed and any issues identified

The technician will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a safe and well-organized workshop and site environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical skills in maintaining, servicing, and repairing mobile plant or heavy equipment, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical faults.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively in a workshop or site environment.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices, including safe working procedures and adherence to company and legal standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service schedules, and maintenance documentation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeship in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Full, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally between sites as required.
  • Previous experience in plant hire, construction, agriculture, or related industries is beneficial.
