Role Description
The Mobile Plant Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Guisborough. The technician will carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of mobile plant equipment, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable, and compliant with relevant standards. - Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Completing inspections
- Replacing parts
- Conducting preventative maintenance

The role also involves:
- Maintaining accurate service records
- Following company procedures
- Communicating clearly with supervisors and customers about work completed and any issues identified
The technician will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a safe and well-organized workshop and site environment.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in maintaining, servicing, and repairing mobile plant or heavy equipment, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical faults.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively in a workshop or site environment.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices, including safe working procedures and adherence to company and legal standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service schedules, and maintenance documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time and tasks to meet deadlines.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeship in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Full, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally between sites as required.
- Previous experience in plant hire, construction, agriculture, or related industries is beneficial.
