Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Shift: Days
I'm working with a well-established, market-leading manufacturer that is looking to recruit a Mobile Production Engineer to support its customers across Scotland.
This is a home-based, customer-facing role where you'll visit manufacturing sites throughout the region, providing technical support and helping customers improve their production processes, product quality and overall efficiency.
Acting as the technical expert, you'll assess manufacturing methods, machinery and tooling, investigate production and quality issues, support new customer set-ups and deliver training to operators and production teams. You'll also carry out factory audits and develop practical improvement plans to enhance manufacturing performance.
You'll work closely with the company's Sales and Technical teams, building strong relationships with customers and ensuring they receive a high level of ongoing technical support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
