Mobile Plant / Pump Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £38,000 – £41,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
We're urgently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Engineer to join a growing engineering team covering the Birmingham area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically strong engineer with experience working on mobile plant and pumping equipment. Candidates with intensive pump experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
You'll be responsible for keeping a range of plant and equipment operational, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance both in the workshop and on customer sites.
The Role
As a Mobile Plant Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of mobile plant.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Working on pumps and associated equipment, with strong pump experience highly desirable.
- Attending customer sites to carry out breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Completing inspections and planned maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Using diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify faults.
- Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records of work undertaken.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Liaising with customers and providing professional technical support on site.

About You
We're looking for an experienced engineer with:
- Previous experience as a Mobile Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, Field Service Engineer, or similar.
- Strong mechanical engineering and fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on mobile plant and machinery.
- Pump experience is highly desirable, particularly candidates who have worked extensively with pumping equipment.
- Good understanding of hydraulic systems.
- Electrical and diagnostic experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with dewatering pumps, diesel-driven pumps, submersible pumps, water pumps, or associated pumping systems would be particularly beneficial.
