Role Description
This is a contract, on-site Mobile Vehicle Accessory Fitter role based in Birmingham. The Mobile Vehicle Accessory Fitter will travel to customer locations or designated sites to install and remove vehicle accessories such as parking sensors, dash cams, tow bars, roof racks, audio systems, and security devices. Day-to-day tasks include assessing vehicle requirements, preparing tools and parts, fitting accessories to manufacturer and company standards, testing installations, and documenting completed work. The role also involves communicating clearly with customers, providing basic product guidance, following safety procedures, and maintaining vehicle and equipment cleanliness. The Mobile Vehicle Accessory Fitter will collaborate with the wider VTS Automotive team to ensure timely jobs, accurate paperwork, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Ability to install and fit a range of vehicle accessories (e.g., electrical accessories, in-car entertainment, security systems, and exterior fittings) to high standards.
- Practical mechanical or auto-electrical experience, with strong hands-on problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Sound understanding of vehicle safety practices, basic diagnostics, and safe use of hand and power tools.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain work carried out in clear, accessible language.
- Good time management and organizational skills to plan daily routes, complete paperwork, and meet agreed deadlines.
- Full, clean driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as part of mobile fitting duties.
- Previous experience in an automotive workshop, mobile fitting role, or similar environment is highly beneficial.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in automotive, vehicle fitting, or auto-electrical work is an advantage.
