Mobile Vehicle Mechanic – Join Jarvie Plant!
Ready for a hands-on role that keeps Scotland moving? Based from our Grangemouth Depot (covering Edinburgh, Fife and Central Belt), you’ll support customers across Central Scotland, keeping our hire fleet safe, reliable, and ready to go.
About The Role
As a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll diagnose, repair, and service vehicles on-site, roadside, and when needed, in the workshop. Your work will help minimise downtime and keep our fleet hire-ready for customers.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and service a range of fleet vehicles.
- Carry out roadside and customer-site repairs across Edinburgh, Fife and the Central Belt.
- Work on engine management, electrical, braking, and general vehicle systems.
- Inspect vehicles, spot wear and tear, and ensure safety standards are met.
- Work efficiently with colleagues and report concerns to management.
- Deliver a professional, helpful service to customers.

When mobile demand is lower, you’ll support work within the base depot workshop.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent.
- Experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing multi-fleet vehicles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Clear communication and a team-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take ownership.
- A passion for great customer service.
