Your van. Your patch. Fixed first time.

Plantexpand keeps the plant and vehicles behind the UK's water, power, gas and telecoms networks working. Around 95% of our work is done on site, from vans stocked for the job, and our engineers fix first time on more than 90% of jobs, with an eight bay workshop and a planning team behind them.
What you'll do
- Service, inspect and repair utility vans and light commercial vehicles on customer sites
- Service and repair PTO systems and body-fitted equipment
- Carry out LOLER thorough examinations and inspections on tail lifts
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and fix them first time wherever you can
- Carry out vehicle safety and compliance checks, and record every job so each vehicle stays compliant

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
