Roxel Production Engineer Job Description

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops, and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £100M and nearly 700 staff.

The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster where we now have a requirement for a permanent Production Engineer within the Operations Team.

To support business growth, the production engineering team at Roxel seeks talented and enthusiastic engineers to support current and future manufacturing capabilities.

About the Role

The manufacturing engineer is part of the Operation department structure and is pivotal in solving manufacturing issues, improving processes and methods with manufacturing teams, driving change and continuous improvement to improve shop floor safety, quality, productivity, and new product introduction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the requirements management and systems engineering methodology, using established frameworks (e.g. NASA SE Handbook, INCOSE, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 & 29148) as a base and modifying to suit the organisation’s scale and culture.
  • Own and configure the ALM/requirements management system including definition, refinement & derivation, architecture, traceability, baselines, and change control.
  • Build and champion the systems engineering capability of the wider engineering team through worked examples, mapped process diagrams, and hands-on training.
  • Prototype and prove the process on development programs before scaling it across the business.
  • Develop our ALM tool’s (Codebeamer) project architecture, mapping it to the systems engineering processes that you help develop.
  • Define links between requirements and physical components, ensuring bidirectional traceability of all system components with their parent requirements/user needs.
  • Perform any other duties necessary, as requested by the business to carry out job function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
