Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration

This Modern Apprenticeship role provides structured development in business and administrative skills through practical work experience within the firm’s operations.

The post supports front-of-house, client service, and document-handling functions while the apprentice works toward completing the SVQ Level 6 qualification in Business and Administration.

Key Responsibilities

Front of House and Client Experience

  • Greet and welcome clients and visitors professionally.
  • Prepare and maintain meeting rooms daily (running order, refreshments, cleanliness).
  • Notify relevant staff upon client arrival.
  • Manage meeting room bookings and coordinate scheduling.
  • Ensure a professional reception environment and positive client experience.

Administrative and Office Support

  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail: sorting, scanning, logging, and recording deliveries.
  • Book in client documents (Edinburgh and Debbie clients) via BTC & Bright Manager, update Excel logs, label correctly, and store securely.
  • Handle books returned from Debbie by sorting, returning to clients, or arranging courier delivery.
  • Assist in booking in new client jobs and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain stationery supplies and general office organisation.
  • Support colleagues with document preparation, filing, and scanning.
  • Adhere to GDPR and confidentiality standards at all times.

Communication and Customer Service

  • Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally: identify the firm, take clear messages, and forward via Webex.
  • Manage correspondence and client emails appropriately, ensuring timely responses.
