Job Description
Location
This post is based on the Maternity Wards at Queens Hospital Burton.
Working Hours
7.5 hour shifts covering a 7 day service.
About the Role
Your role will be to work as an integral part of the Clinical Ward Team and to be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities services in the ward area, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure a seamless approach to the provision of non-clinical services.
- Ensure the appropriate delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks, to meet individual patients’ needs, as determined by the Ward Sister.
- Provide a focal point for individual patients in relation to their day to day non-clinical needs.
- Liaise with the Service Provider to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment and that all patients food and beverage requirements are met.
- Liaise with the Lead Sister and Service Provider, to ensure that the day’s work is planned in the most appropriate way, in order to deliver a high standard of patient facilities services.
- Undertake the cleaning of medical equipment, and other relevant items as identified.
- Ensure thorough cleanliness standards are met in the ward kitchen in accordance with contractual requirements and Food Hygiene Standards.

Requirements
- Caring and compassionate attitude.
