Modular Trade Specialist

Select Plant Hire is seeking a motivated and versatile Modular Trade Specialist to join our growing manufacturing and installation team based at our Wincham Depot.

This is a varied hands-on role involving the manufacture, assembly, and installation of modular lift systems and modular buildings. The successful candidate will work both within our manufacturing facility and on customer sites across the UK, supporting the delivery of high-quality modular solutions for major infrastructure and construction projects.

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate a positive attitude, and can work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience in modular construction, manufacturing, or a construction trade is desirable, but equally important is a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Salary: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

Overtime: Will be required to support operational demands (Weekends/Nights)

Contract: Full-time, permanent

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble modular lift structures and associated components within the manufacturing facility.
  • Install modular lift structures and external cladding systems on site.
  • Assemble and install structural steel frameworks and associated components.
  • Install floor systems, wall panels, doors, and windows within modular buildings.
  • Carry out painting, finishing, and snagging activities to achieve quality standards.
  • Perform general assembly and construction activities in line with engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Support installation activities on customer sites throughout the UK.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
  • Use lifting equipment, access equipment, and plant machinery in accordance with training and company procedures.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing and installation process.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, and site teams to meet project deadlines.

Essential

What We're Looking For

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Good practical skills and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work throughout the UK when required.
  • Willingness to stay away from home where project requirements dictate.
  • Commitment to working safely and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work weekends for installations.

Desirable

  • Experience in modular construction or offsite manufacturing.
  • Construction, engineering, or manufacturing experience.
  • Multi-trade background.
  • Joinery, cladding, steelwork, or assembly experience.
  • Experience installing doors, windows, flooring, or wall systems.
  • Experience using MEWPs, forklifts, telehandlers, or lifting equipment.
  • CSCS card.
  • IPAF, PASMA, forklift, CPCS, or other industry qualifications.
  • Experience working in rail, infrastructure, or construction environments.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 06:45 - 16:45
  • Friday: 06:45 - 15:30

Additional overtime and weekend working opportunities are available and will be required to support project delivery.
