Role description

THE ROLE
The Team / Module Leader - Chassis Components (Launch) is responsible for leading the chassis component delivery team through the final development, validation, industrialisation and launch phases, ensuring efficient and controlled delivery into production. The role provides clear direction to the team, prioritises workload, coordinates major issue resolution, reports programme status to our client management and escalates risks or issues where required.
Dimension of Function Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) is a growing function within Tata Technologies Limited. The Team / Module Leader will lead a dedicated TTL Engineering Team supporting our client and will assume delivery leadership through the final development and industrialisation build phases up to Job 1 + 90. The role is accountable for team coordination, delivery planning, issue management and clear reporting to customer management.

Area of Responsibility
- Lead, coordinate and support the chassis component engineering team through final development, component sign-off, maturation, vehicle launch and industrialisation.
- Prioritise and allocate team workload in line with programme milestones, build requirements, technical risk and available resources.
- Maintain an integrated view of component delivery status, actions, risks, dependencies and resource constraints across the module.
- Lead the resolution of major engineering, quality, supplier and manufacturing issues, ensuring robust containment, root-cause analysis and permanent corrective action.
- Provide clear, concise and evidence-based status reports to our client and TTL management, including progress against plan, key risks, issue recovery and decisions required.
- Escalate significant technical, programme, resource or delivery issues promptly, with defined impact, ownership and recommended recovery actions.
- Ensure DV, PV, sign-off activities, engineering releases and change actions are completed to support programme timing.
- Coordinate support for pilot, pre-production and production builds, ensuring correct parts, engineering status and issue-response coverage.
- Drive delivery of chassis components to the required time, cost, quality and technical specification.
- Manage engineering changes, programme risks, cross-functional dependencies and supplier interfaces.
- Coach team members, establish clear ownership and follow up actions to closure.
- Support launch activities at the customer manufacturing facility and ensure effective transition into stable production.
- Ensure component maturation is aligned to programme plans and communicate overall module status to the Chassis Launch Leader and client management.

Knowledge / Experience
Essential:
- Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading an engineering team or module within automotive product development, validation, industrialisation or launch.
- Experience delivering suspension, steering, brakes, axles or other chassis components within automotive programmes.
- Proven workload prioritisation, delivery planning and team coordination capability.
- Proven major issue leadership using structured problem-solving and cross-functional working.
- Strong status reporting, presentation, stakeholder management and escalation skills, including communication with senior customer management.
- Knowledge of product development, DV, PV, engineering release, change management and vehicle launch processes.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA and structured problem solving.
- PC literacy: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Preferred:
- Experience within our client programmes.
- Understanding of our client release, change management, programme reporting and issue-management systems.
- CAD literacy and ability to interrogate CAD models.
- Experience supporting BEV and/or HEV vehicle launches.
