About the role
Make a real difference to residents experiencing financial hardship.
We are looking for motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Crisis and Resilience Scheme.
With increasing numbers of residents experiencing financial hardship, there is growing demand for financial and debt advice, alongside support to access crisis funding and interventions. These roles will be central to ensuring residents receive the right support at the right time, helping to address immediate financial pressures while building longer-term financial resilience.
As a Crisis and Resilience Money Advice Caseworker, you will work directly with residents to understand their individual circumstances, identify the support available to them and ensure appropriate interventions are put in place.
You will:
- Identify residents who may be eligible for crisis or resilience support and ensure they can access appropriate assistance.
- Assess individual circumstances and identify the most effective interventions to meet residents' needs.
- Support residents to access the Crisis and Resilience Scheme, including completing referrals and applications where appropriate.
- Provide information and support around financial wellbeing, debt and income maximisation, connecting residents with specialist services when required.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, partners and other agencies to ensure residents receive coordinated support.
- Ensure available funding is targeted effectively and reaches residents most in need.
- Help residents address the underlying causes of financial hardship, reducing repeat crises and supporting greater financial independence.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring outcomes to demonstrate the impact of the service.
About You
We are looking for people who are passionate about helping residents and can combine empathy with sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be confident supporting residents who may be experiencing difficult or challenging circumstances. You will be able to assess individual needs, manage competing priorities and work effectively with colleagues, partners and other organisations to achieve positive outcomes.
Experience of working in welfare benefits, financial inclusion, debt advice, housing, homelessness prevention, customer services or a related support environment would be particularly valuable. You will also have a willingness to undertake a relevant professional qualification to develop your knowledge and skills and support you in delivering the role effectively.
