About the team

The Bank Funding Group brings together deposit gathering, funding strategy, treasury, liquidity management and related change programmes. Its purpose is to raise, manage and optimise the funding required to support Investec Bank plc's balance sheet and lending activity.

Within the group, the Client Group Funding dealing team provides proactive cash-management services to corporate and institutional clients. The team manages a portfolio of approximately 800 clients, delivering a personal and bespoke service while balancing competitive pricing, client needs and the bank's funding requirements.

Alongside managing existing relationships, the team originates and onboards new-to-bank business, identifies relevant cross-sell opportunities and provides operational booking support to the Funding Partnerships desk.

What will I be doing?

As a Money Market Dealer, you will play an important role in delivering the bank's corporate liability strategy. You will manage and develop a portfolio within one of Investec's key relationship-led deposit channels, providing proactive cash-management support while helping the Bank Funding Group meet its funding objectives.

  • Manage and grow client relationships. Take ownership of an existing portfolio while originating and onboarding new-to-bank corporate and institutional clients.
  • Deliver proactive cash management. Understand clients' liquidity needs, manage maturities, notices and opportunities, and recommend suitable money market solutions.
  • Support the bank's funding strategy. Work towards agreed budgets and performance measures, including cost of funds, book granularity, client referrals and increased cash-at-bank wallet share.
  • Provide responsive client service. React quickly to incoming calls and emails, manage the desk inbox and ensure queries are resolved accurately and promptly.
  • Identify broader opportunities. Recognise relevant products and services across Investec and introduce clients to the appropriate colleagues, including potential opportunities for Funding Partnerships.
  • Position Investec effectively. Clearly communicate the bank's strengths and differentiators to existing and prospective clients.
  • Execute and monitor activity accurately. Use dealing systems for bookings, reporting and trade monitoring, while maintaining complete and timely CRM records.
  • Work collaboratively across the bank. Build strong relationships with Treasury, Sales and Origination, FX Dealing, Compliance, Settlements, Client Service, KYC and Onboarding teams.
  • Support operational delivery. Complete and allocate ad hoc activity as required and support the Funding Partnerships desk through accurate bookings.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
