A bit about the job
The Trustee Executive Services Team plays an important role in supporting Aviva Staff Pension Trustee Limited with the governance and management of four pension schemes representing more than £3 billion of money purchase assets and approximately 55,000 members. In this role, you will support the day-to-day management of our money purchase pension arrangements while helping provide the insight and information needed for effective decision-making. You will work closely with colleagues, advisers, and our third-party administrator to support governance activities, regulatory compliance, and member outcomes. Alongside this, you will analyse scheme data, support investment oversight, and contribute to projects that help improve the experience and outcomes of our members. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across pensions operations, regulation, investments, and scheme management while working with experienced pensions professionals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
