FA Women’s National League – Division One South West
Location: John Jenkins Stadium, Portsmouth
Commitment: Tuesday evenings, Thursday evenings and Sundays (home and away fixtures)
Role: Paid

About the Role

Moneyfields FC Women are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and knowledgeable Goalkeeping Coach to join our coaching team ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Competing in the FA Women’s National League Division One South West, we are an ambitious and progressive club with a strong focus on developing players, improving performance, and building a positive environment both on and off the pitch.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the development of our goalkeepers, working closely with the First Team Manager and wider coaching staff to ensure our goalkeepers are fully prepared for training and matchday demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, goalkeeper-specific training sessions.
  • Work with the First Team Manager to integrate goalkeeper work into wider team training.
  • Develop goalkeepers technically, tactically, physically, and psychologically.
  • Provide individual feedback and development plans for goalkeepers.
  • Prepare goalkeepers for upcoming opponents and match-specific requirements.
  • Support goalkeepers during matchdays, including warm-ups and post-match feedback.
  • Analyse goalkeeper performances and identify areas for continued development.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive coaching environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider coaching and performance team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the club's playing philosophy and standards.
  • Ensure all coaching is delivered in line with Moneyfields FC Women’s values and FA safeguarding requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Goalkeeping coaching experience within football.
  • Strong understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the modern goalkeeper.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with players.
  • A professional and committed approach to coaching.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider coaching team.
  • Commitment to attending Tuesday evening and Thursday evening training sessions, as well as Sunday home and away fixtures.
  • Appropriate FA/football coaching qualifications and safeguarding requirements.

Desirable

  • Experience working within the women’s game.
  • Previous experience within the FA Women’s National League or equivalent level.
  • FA Level 2/UEFA C Goalkeeping or higher qualification.
  • Experience using video/performance analysis to support player development.
  • A clear understanding of player-centred coaching and long-term goalkeeper development.
