The Condition Monitoring & Remote Operations (CM&RO) Team
The Condition Monitoring & Remote Operations (CM&RO) team plays a crucial role in Uniper's strategy of developing solutions to ensure the availability and reliability of its assets. Using state-of-the-art Machine Learning Models and autonomous asset monitoring systems, we combine engineering knowledge, strong domain expertise to create leading solutions in Condition Monitoring, that ultimately shape Uniper's assets maintenance strategy.
We build a good relationship with the power plant engineering and operations team so that Uniper can meet its business objectives, ensuring the availability of its fleets as it transitions to Net-zero power generation.
We work as part of the Operational Performance Department within Energy Asset Management. This role could include supporting the Performance Monitoring team, in delivering performance tests across the Uniper assets.

- You will manage routine vibration data collection, analyse vibration data, diagnose and report rotating machinery faults as part of Uniper’s condition monitoring programme.
- You will routinely monitor critical rotating machinery remotely in Uniper’s power plant in the UK and across Europe, diagnosing developing rotating machinery faults to prevent functional and secondary failures resulting in enhanced reliability and availability that supports Uniper’s security of supply strategy.
- You will manage relationships with key stakeholders in Uniper power plants across the UK and Europe, acting as an interface to the OEMs on behalf of Uniper where applicable whilst continuously looking to improve the CM&RO team offering and value proposition.
- You will install specialist vibration monitoring systems on a temporary ad hoc basis to troubleshoot and diagnose rotodynamic problems and perform in-situ trim balance when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
