This vacancy is only available for applications from existing Internal Plymouth City Council employees and Agency Workers who are in an active placement and have 12 weeks continuous service. About The Role
Plymouth City Council is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Monitoring Officer to support the effective delivery of the Youth Employment Programme.
The Youth Employment Programme supports young people aged 16 to 24 to access employment, training and education opportunities, helping them develop the skills and experience needed to succeed. As Monitoring Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring programme activity is accurately recorded, monitored and reported, supporting compliance with funding requirements and performance targets.

Working closely with delivery partners and internal colleagues, you will help ensure high-quality data, robust monitoring processes and effective performance reporting underpin the successful delivery of the programme.
What You'll Do
- Monitor programme activity, outputs and outcomes against agreed targets.
- Maintain accurate records and management information systems.
- Validate participant and provider data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Produce regular performance reports and dashboards.
- Support contract monitoring, audits and funding claims.
- Identify data quality issues and work with partners to resolve them.
- Assist with programme evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
About You
You will have:
- Experience of monitoring, data management or performance reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of using databases, spreadsheets and reporting systems.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- An understanding of employment, skills, education or publicly funded programmes would be advantageous.
