Counter Lead (Retail)

About the Role

The Counter Lead plays a pivotal role in supporting the Brand in driving sales turnover and market share through maintaining a consistently consumer-focused approach.

Responsibilities include:

Core Accountabilities

  • Reflect a credible and professional Brand image with internal and external consumers at all times
  • Maximise sales through selling, customer service, and adherence to retail standards
  • Contribute to operational efficiencies by following store/Brand/Company procedures and guidelines
  • Understand and track daily/weekly sales targets
  • Monitor additional sales channels (events, Omni commerce, digital platforms)
  • Stay updated on competitor activities and missed sales opportunities
  • Manage and enhance Brand image through effective social media engagement
  • Deliver the Brand Strategy, ensuring local plans are executed effectively
  • Plan and implement local marketing & events initiatives aligned with retailer activity
  • Drive service excellence by fostering a zero-complaints mindset and a "surprise and delight" culture
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador, embodying values and leading by example
  • Handle refunds and complaints professionally—adhering to Company guidelines and escalating as needed
  • Utilise digital tools to stay informed and up to date
  • Develop a consumer recruitment and retention strategy to build loyalty

Operations

  • Ensure excellence in standards (product, housekeeping, displays, pricing, messaging)
  • Conduct daily retail standards reviews and maintenance
  • Manage deliveries, stock movements, and administrative tasks within agreed timelines
  • Implement and improve auditable processes, reporting risks and corrective actions
  • Fulfill information requests accurately and promptly
  • Minimise stock loss by enforcing Company Security Policies
  • Maintain a safe working environment for consumers (adhering to Company and retailer policies)
  • Achieve a minimum "Acceptable" grading across health & safety and operational audits

Commercial Performance

  • Manage daily replenishment, taking corrective actions where necessary
  • Optimise sales performance using commercial reports
  • Plan and execute visual merchandising layouts within guidelines and timelines
  • Identify and resolve stock package issues, informing the Area Manager when required
  • Manage promotions and discounts in line with Company policies
  • Spot trends and suggest improvements to enhance product performance

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced retail/consumer-facing environment
  • Strong drive for self-development
  • Commercial awareness of industry trends and best practices
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills
