Home Instead Lewes District & Uckfield is a locally owned, family-run business, with our office based in the heart of Ringmer. Our mission is to help older adults stay connected to the East Sussex communities they’ve loved for years, while continuing to live independently and comfortably in their own homes.
We provide personalised, relationship-led care to clients across Lewes District and Uckfield. Our Care Professionals play an essential role in helping older adults remain safe, independent, and connected to local life.
Job Description
Morning Care Professional (8am starts)
Lewes, Uckfield and surrounding areas.
We’re looking for warm, dependable people who enjoy early starts, familiar routes, and building real connections with clients close to home.

Role overview
As a part-time Morning Care Professional, you’ll support clients during the most important part of their day, the morning. Working from 8am or earlier, you’ll visit regular clients helping them feel confident, comfortable, and ready for the day ahead.
Whether assisting with morning routines, preparing breakfast, or sharing a friendly chat over a cup of tea, your presence will bring reassurance, dignity, and a positive start to every day.
Key responsibilities
- Assist clients with morning personal care routines (bathing, dressing)
- Prepare nourishing breakfasts and warming drinks tailored to client preferences
- Carry out light housekeeping (making beds, tidying rooms, washing up, laundry)
- Provide medication reminders and monitor wellbeing
- Offer companionship through gentle morning activities (reading, music, puzzles)
- Accompany clients into the community or run small errands when needed
What we’re looking for

- A naturally caring, patient, and reliable nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail when following care plans
- Availability for morning shifts starting from 8am
- Ability to travel between local coastal visits (own transport preferred)
- No prior experience required (full training provided)

Additional Information
- Applicants must be 18+ and UK residents (unable to provide visa sponsorship)
- Full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle preferred but not essential
- Business insurance required if using your own car
- Enhanced DBS check required (arranged and paid for by us)
