Morning Shift Supervisor

Salary: £32,454 - £44,625
Hours: 5:30am to 3:30pm (47.5 hours)
Location: Envirosort, WR5 2DF

About the role

As a Morning Shift Supervisor at Envirosort (Severn Waste Services), you will assist the Plant Manager in the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the Materials Recycling Facility. You will be responsible for supervising employees, maintaining operational standards, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements, and supporting the day-to-day performance of the site.

This vacancy is for a full-time position.

What will you be doing?

  • Supervising recycling assistants, team leaders, drivers, and weighbridge operatives
  • Ensuring all site activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures
  • Monitoring plant, equipment, and operational performance and reporting defects as required
  • Supporting the delivery of production targets
  • Conducting daily operational checks and maintaining accurate records
  • Delivering toolbox talks and supporting employee training and development
  • Managing attendance, conducting return-to-work interviews, and addressing performance issues where required
  • Collating payroll information accurately and within required timescales
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and safe systems of work
  • Working closely with the Plant Manager to ensure efficient use of resources and smooth site operations

What are we looking for?

  • At a minimum, 3 years' experience in a supervisory role, ideally within a manufacturing, recycling, or process environment
  • Previous people management experience
  • Strong communication skills with a high standard of spoken and written English
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong numerical and organisational skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Health & Safety focused approach
  • Reliable, honest, and professional attitude
  • Leadership and management qualifications would be advantageous
