Role Description

The Mortgage Adviser role is a full-time, on-site position based in Gateshead. The individual in this role will provide tailored mortgage advice to clients, including new build, re-mortgage, buy-to-let, and protection products, ensuring recommendations align with clients’ financial goals and circumstances.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Conducting client consultations
  • Performing affordability and eligibility assessments
  • Preparing mortgage applications
  • Liaising with lenders, solicitors, and other stakeholders throughout the process

The Mortgage Adviser will explain complex financial information in clear terms, maintain accurate client records, and adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements. The role also involves participating in business development activities, supporting mortgage marketing initiatives, and contributing to a friendly, client-focused service environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong mortgage advisory expertise, including experience with Mortgages and Financial Planning.
  • Solid understanding of Finance principles relevant to lending, affordability, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of Mortgage Marketing practices to support client acquisition and retention.
  • CeMAP qualified (or equivalent recognized mortgage advice qualification).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with a diverse client base.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work on-site in Rowlands Gill and manage a busy caseload effectively.
  • Previous experience in a financial advisory or mortgage brokerage environment is highly beneficial.
  • New Build experience required but not essential
