Role Description

This is a self-employed Mortgage Advisor role based in the City of Bristol with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing some work from home. The Mortgage Advisor will provide mortgage advice to a diverse range of clients, assessing their financial situations, understanding their goals, and recommending suitable mortgage products.

  • Conducting client consultations
  • Preparing affordability assessments
  • Managing applications from initial inquiry through to completion
  • Liaising with lenders, solicitors, and other stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Staying up to date with mortgage products, regulatory requirements, and market trends
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Contributing to business development activities
  • Supporting marketing efforts
  • Building strong client relationships through proactive communication and follow-up

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of mortgages and mortgage products, with experience advising on a range of residential and buy-to-let options.
  • Finance and financial planning skills, including the ability to assess affordability, analyze client financial information, and provide suitable recommendations.
  • CeMAP qualification (or equivalent recognised mortgage advice qualification) with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience or understanding of mortgage marketing, including supporting lead generation and client outreach activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and build trust with clients.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfort with hybrid working, including effective use of digital tools, CRM systems, and remote communication platforms.
  • Previous experience in mortgage advice, financial services, or a related field is highly beneficial.
