Job Purpose

The Mortgage Adviser will provide expert mortgage advice and tailored lending solutions to affluent and high-net-worth clients, primarily those based in or connected to the Middle East. The role involves developing and maintaining strong client relationships, as well as building a network of industry professionals to enhance collaboration and referral opportunities. The Mortgage Adviser will actively contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting new business initiatives, and expanding the bank’s mortgage client base, while ensuring all activities align with the bank’s strategy, vision, service standards, and regulatory requirements.

Accountabilities

The Mortgage Adviser will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Deliver bespoke mortgage advice and structuring solutions that align with the financial needs and property investment goals of affluent and high-net-worth clients, primarily based in or originating from the Middle East.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals and mortgage intermediaries, actively networking to build a high-quality referral network and drive new business opportunities, including supporting the onboarding of new introducers and conducting regular ongoing reviews to ensure continued engagement and performance.
  • Undertake all required activities in relation to the onboarding and origination of new mortgage clients including opening client accounts, preparing credit applications and satisfying all Compliance onboarding requirements.
  • Build, maintain, and deepen strong long-term relationships with the bank’s mortgage clients providing first-class ongoing service and relationship management in connection with the mortgage and associated Private Banking products.
  • Ensure all mortgage recommendations and activities are fully compliant with FCA Regulation as well as internal policies and procedures, maintaining accurate and complete files and documentation.
  • Work closely with private banking relationship managers, credit risk, and operational teams to ensure a timely and efficient mortgage advice and onboarding journey in line with the bank’s risk appetite and service model.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the bank’s mortgage products and criteria, interest rate and property market trends and competitor offerings.
  • Contribute to the execution of the bank’s broader strategy and vision by identifying opportunities to expand the mortgage book, attract new deposits, cross-sell relevant services, and enhance client engagement.
  • Manage a robust mortgage pipeline, monitor deal progress, and meet agreed sales and service KPIs while ensuring excellent client outcomes.
  • Provide support to the Mortgage Manager as required, undertaking any other reasonable tasks or responsibilities to ensure the effective delivery of mortgage services and the smooth operation of the department.
  • Collate, understand, and articulate customer feedback to the management team and provide input into marketing and product development, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Support JIB’s commitment to regulatory compliance by adhering to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies; completing all mandatory compliance training in a timely manner; promptly reporting any actual or suspected breaches; and consistently demonstrating behaviour aligned with JIB’s compliance culture and Code of Conduct.
  • Support JIB’s commitment to operational resilience, all employees must adhere to relevant policies, complete required training, participate in exercises, and assist in incident response to ensure continuity of critical business services.
  • Adhere to all policies Bank policies and complete all training issued within the required deadlines.

  • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. providing both regulated and non-regulated mortgage advice, ideally to HNW individuals.
  • Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of BTL and Residential Mortgages.
  • Role relevant qualifications, i.e. CeMap or equivalent.
  • Currently holding CAS status – Desirable but not essential.
