Self Employed Mortgage Adviser?
You already work for yourself, so why is someone else’s name on the door?
The Connect Network helps experienced, self-employed mortgage advisers set up and run their own firm under their own brand, as an Appointed Representative. You can advise on every type of case, mainstream and specialist, from a first time buyer to a bridging loan or a commercial purchase, plus protection. We do the set-up with you and stand behind you on compliance, lenders, systems and marketing.
Advise on every case that comes through your door
- Residential, remortgage and buy to let
- Bridging, commercial, business finance and development finance
- Second charge
- Later life and equity release
- Expat, foreign national and offshore
- Protection, general insurance, business insurance and private medical insurance
That means you rarely have to refer a client elsewhere, so the fee, the commission and the relationship stay with your firm. Our Training team support you with the knowledge and skills for new product areas and our Specialist Placement Team helps with complex and non-standard cases. All subject to your qualifications and permissions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
