Role Description

This full-time Mortgage Advisor role is based in Leatherhead and offered on a hybrid basis, combining office presence with some work-from-home flexibility. The Mortgage Advisor will guide clients through the entire mortgage journey, from initial enquiry and fact-finding to recommendation, application, and completion, with a focus on holiday let and related mortgage products.   • Assessing client needs
  • Explaining suitable mortgage options
  • Preparing and submitting applications
  • Liaising with lenders and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements

The role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products and market trends, contributing to the improvement of processes on HCM’s digital platform, and supporting marketing activities with insights from client interactions. The Mortgage Advisor will provide clear, empathetic communication to help clients understand their choices and make informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Strong mortgage and finance expertise, including experience with Mortgages and Financial Planning.
  • Relevant mortgage marketing skills, such as Mortgage Marketing and an understanding of sector-specific customer needs.
  • Appropriate professional qualifications, ideally CeMAP qualified or holding an equivalent FCA-recognised mortgage advice certification.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret lender criteria and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to explain complex information simply and build long-term relationships.
  • Good IT skills and comfort working with digital platforms, CRM systems, and online application processes.
