Mortgage File Reviewer (Business Standards Assessor)

This role can be considered either with or without experience, as full training will be provided, enabling the successful candidate to acquire all of the industry-specific knowledge needed to undertake the role. Our chosen candidate will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, hybrid working, 3 days from our Derby office and 2 days working from home.

The Role

The Assessor accepts responsibility for completing file reviews on mortgage and insurance cases created by the AR Firms / Advisers across the network.

This role is about making sure the AR Firms / Advisers are adhering to the Stonebridge standards and operating within all relevant regulatory controls.

The Assessor provides insight and guidance to the advisers where remedial actions are required to bring the cases up to the required standard and updates all team spreadsheets, so MI is up to date for reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • In a quality and volume-based, target-driven environment, complete reviews of mortgage & insurance cases, assessing each case against a predefined, specific set of criteria
  • Provide feedback and guidance on the cases reviewed, to enable remedial items to be completed by the mortgage adviser
  • Review the updated cases to make sure all remedial actions have been completed satisfactorily by the Adviser
  • Update logs/spreadsheets with details of cases managed and cases completed

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Previous office/admin experience preferred but not essential
  • Able to remain focused and motivated reviewing lengthy, detailed documentation
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Probing, investigative, analytical
  • Clear and articulate communicator
  • Good knowledge of MS Office packages
  • Ability to create MI and reporting
  • Mortgage file reviewing is an advantage, but not essential
  • Able to fully satisfy the pre-employment screening process, which comprises right to work, identity, 5 years referencing, AML, credit screen, financial sanctions, and DBS checks
