Company Description

UK Mortgage Centre is a nationwide mortgage and protection advisory firm that began as a family-run business in Warrington in 2017. The team supports clients across the UK with clear, honest guidance on first-time purchases, remortgages, buy-to-let investments, commercial mortgages, bridging loans, and insurance. The company works closely with solicitors and estate agents to make the mortgage process smoother and less stressful for clients. UK Mortgage Centre is proudly carbon neutral, planting a tree for every client to support a greener future. The firm operates as an Appointed Representative of Refresh Mortgage Network Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Role Description

The Mortgage & Protection Adviser will provide tailored mortgage and protection advice to clients, guiding them through the full application process from initial consultation to completion. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The adviser will maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and deliver clear explanations of products, fees, and risks to help clients make informed decisions. This is a full-time hybrid role, based in Warrington with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The adviser will also contribute to building client relationships, supporting repeat business, referrals, and the company’s reputation for trustworthy, stress-free service.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of mortgages and mortgage markets, with proven experience advising on residential, remortgage, and buy-to-let products.
  • Finance and financial planning skills, including affordability assessment, budgeting awareness, and an understanding of risk and suitability for clients.
  • Mortgage marketing experience or awareness, including the ability to communicate services clearly and support client acquisition and retention.
  • CeMAP qualified (or hold an equivalent FCA-recognized mortgage advice qualification) and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information in simple terms and build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a disciplined approach to compliance, documentation, and regulatory standards.
  • Comfort with hybrid working, including the ability to manage time effectively, use CRM and digital tools, and work both independently and as part of a team in Warrington.
  • Previous experience in a regulated mortgage advice environment and knowledge of UK lending criteria, protection products, and FCA guidelines is highly beneficial.
