Self-Employed Mortgage & Protection Adviser

This is a self-employed role, based remotely with reasonable proximity to the business in Folkestone for occasional meetings.

About the Role

Are you an ambitious Mortgage & Protection Adviser looking for the freedom to build your own business while benefiting from the support of an established mortgage brokerage?

Maxwell Mortgage Services is expanding and seeking motivated Mortgage & Protection Advisers to join the team. We are open to experienced advisers as well as individuals with strong exposure to the mortgage and financial services industry who are looking to take the next step into advising.

This is a self-employed opportunity suited to professionals who can generate their own business, have an existing client bank, or possess a proven route to market. For less experienced candidates, a closer proximity to the Folkestone office would be beneficial to allow for additional support and development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality mortgage and protection advice tailored to client needs
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Generate new business opportunities through self-sourced activity and referrals
  • Manage client cases efficiently from enquiry through to completion
  • Handle your own administration and case management
  • Work compliantly and in line with regulatory requirements
  • Contribute positively to the growth and reputation of Maxwell Mortgage Services

What will you need to succeed?

  • CeMAP (or equivalent) qualification
  • Mortgage and/or financial services industry experience
  • Advising experience preferred, although candidates with significant industry exposure will also be considered
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to generate business through networking, referrals, or existing relationships
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes
  • Good understanding of mortgage and protection advice requirements
