Mortgage Protection Adviser | Davidson Deem, Lumin Wealth's dedicated mortgage entity
£35,000 to £40,000 + Commission
Lumin Wealth is hiring a Mortgage Protection Adviser for Davidson Deem, Lumin's dedicated mortgage business, and this is a chance to build a department from scratch. This is a fully on-site role.
A little context: Lumin Wealth, part of Swiss financial provider VZ Group, acquired Davidson Deem as part of its long-term strategy to grow in the UK's mortgage industry. Lumin manages client assets valued at over £1 billion across offices in London, Cambridge and St Albans. As part of that growth, we're now building a standalone protection function within Davidson Deem, and this is the first hire into it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The role
This is a standalone position initially, so the department will largely be what you make it. Your leads will come primarily through Davidson Deem's 6 mortgage advisers, so the role involves:
- Advising clients directly on protection, sourced through Davidson Deem's 6 mortgage advisers
- Building strong working relationships with each of the 6 advisers individually. They each work differently, sit at different experience levels, and have different levels of success, so understanding that will be key to how the leads flow
- Working as part of a team, with a genuine hunger to grow a project from the ground up rather than maintain an existing one

Experience
- Experience as a Mortgage Protection Adviser, advising clients directly, with a minimum of 12 months in an advising role
- Experience within a wealth management firm would be useful, as it may allow you to support Lumin clients in future
- Protection-specific qualifications aren't required to advise on protection, but they're a plus
- Experience coaching or mentoring a team, generating more leads, overcoming objections and that kind of thing, would also stand you in good stead
