Are you an experienced mortgage and protection sales leader who can raise standards, coach managers and advisers, and turn commercial strategy into consistent results?
Eminent Financial Services is seeking a Mortgage & Protection Sales Manager to work closely with the Head of Sales & Operations, supporting Area Managers and their teams of self-employed advisers across the United Kingdom.
This is an influence-led leadership role
Although the position has no direct reports, you will provide functional oversight, challenge, and practical support across the mortgage and protection business, helping to increase mortgage completions, improve protection penetration, strengthen referrals to Wealth Advisers, and raise adviser productivity.
About Eminent Financial Services
We're not your typical financial services business.
With over 80 advisers and ambitious plans for continued growth, we are building a business that creates genuine impact for our clients, advisers, and communities.
Our mission is simple: To bridge the financial gap that exists within the UK's ethnic communities by providing accessible, high-quality mortgage and protection advice.
We combine technical expertise with emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and a genuine commitment to helping clients achieve better financial outcomes.
As part of The Openwork Partnership, the UK's largest financial advice network, we benefit from the support of more than 500 member firms and 4,500+ advisers nationwide while retaining the entrepreneurial culture of a growing business.
The Opportunity
The Mortgage & Protection Sales Manager will be central to improving commercial performance and leadership capability across the adviser network. You will support Area Managers to manage performance effectively, coach advisers, address underperformance, and deliver agreed business priorities.
The role combines sales leadership, performance management, coaching, recruitment support, onboarding, proposition development, and cross-divisional collaboration. It will suit someone who is credible with experienced advisers, comfortable working through influence, and able to balance commercial ambition with strong regulatory and client-outcome standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing leadership, guidance, and practical support to Area Managers responsible for Mortgage & Protection Adviser teams.
- Helping Area Managers deliver regional sales targets, performance objectives, and agreed adviser minimum standards.
- Monitoring sales performance, pipeline, and adviser productivity, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Driving growth in mortgage completions, protection penetration, protection premium, and overall revenue.
- Embedding a protection-focused advice culture that improves client conversations, needs identification, and outcomes.
- Increasing structured referrals from Mortgage & Protection Advisers to the Wealth Advisory division and monitoring conversion.
- Coaching and mentoring Area Managers and advisers, including support with complex cases, sales strategy, and development planning.
- Addressing underperformance through clear expectations, measurable actions, coaching, and timely follow-up.
- Supporting recruitment, induction, and the early development of newly appointed advisers.
- Promoting continuous professional development and effective use of available training and business-development resources.
- Working with compliance, training, and operations colleagues to support FCA and Consumer Duty requirements, advice quality, and positive client outcomes.
- Building effective relationships with lenders, protection providers, strategic partners, and professional introducers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
