Mortgage Underwriter
East Riding, Yorkshire
Salary: £depending on experience
Our client is a well-established and customer-focused financial services provider offering mortgage and savings products to the market. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join their growing mortgage department.
Their head office is based in East Riding, Yorkshire, and they would like this individual to have weekly office presence, ideally with 3 days in the office and the remaining 2 working from home.
Duties will include:
- Dealing with enquiries from Mortgage Intermediaries, Solicitors, and Customers.
- Providing advice on a range of products, either over the phone or in the branch.
- Completing and reviewing mortgage applications, examining supporting documentation, and verifying accuracy.
- Maintaining accurate records and notes throughout all stages of the mortgage application.
- Updating and maintaining spreadsheets.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, mortgage policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Working closely with the team to contribute to the growth and strategy of the company.

Experience and qualifications required:

- Mortgage underwriting experience gained within FS
- CeMAP qualified (if partly qualified must be committed to completing the qualification)
- Excellent communication and customer services skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge/experience of bridging and development finance is desirable
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday-Friday 9 am to 5 pm, with on-site parking available.
