Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a MOT Nominated Tester based in Aveley. The MOT Nominated Tester will carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations, ensuring all vehicles are inspected thoroughly and accurately recorded. Daily activities include performing safety and emissions checks, documenting results, and communicating clearly with service advisors and customers about required repairs or advisory work.

  • Keeping up-to-date with MOT testing standards and compliance requirements
  • Supporting general workshop activities when needed

The MOT Nominated Tester is expected to:

  • Promote a safe working environment
  • Deliver consistent high-quality service
  • Contribute to positive customer experiences

Qualifications

  • Valid DVSA MOT tester qualification and current MOT tester license
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, safety standards, and MOT testing procedures
  • Previous experience in an automotive workshop or vehicle inspection environment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in record-keeping, and commitment to regulatory compliance
  • Clear communication skills for explaining findings to colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop and collaborate with a technical team
  • Basic IT skills for using MOT testing systems and completing digital documentation
  • Relevant automotive qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Engineering) are beneficial
  • Demonstrated reliability, professional conduct, and a strong focus on health and safety
