MOT & SERVICE CENTRE MANAGER / AEDM
£55,000 BASIC + UP TO £5,000 PERFORMANCE BONUS
Potential package: £60,000
Monday–Friday | 8:30am–5:30pm | NO WEEKENDS
St Helens
We’re looking for an experienced MOT & Service Centre Manager / AEDM to take charge of our newly opened MOT & Service Centre in St Helens.
This is a senior, hands-on role for somebody capable of taking genuine ownership of the day-to-day operation of the centre.
We’ve invested over £1.2 million into the site, building and equipment.
We’re looking for somebody who can run it.
THE PACKAGE
- £55,000 basic salary
- Up to £5,000 annual performance bonus paid quarterly (guaranteed for 1st Quarter)
- Potential earnings: £60,000
Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm
30-minute lunch
NO WEEKENDS
Plus:
- 28 days' holiday including Bank Holidays
- Your birthday off with full pay every year

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You will already be:
- A qualified MOT Tester
- An experienced AEDM / Test Centre Manager
- An experienced garage/workshop manager
- From a strong mechanical/technical background
- Confident managing technicians and workshop workflow
- Excellent with customers, both face-to-face and over the phone
- Ideally Green RAG status
- Ideally have at least 5 years' motor trade experience

Diagnostic experience, Class 4, 5 & 7 experience and your own tools would be advantageous.
THE ROLE
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the centre, including:
- Managing technicians and workshop workflow
- Booking and allocating work
- Dealing with customers
- Ordering parts and dealing with suppliers
- Job cards, invoicing and payments
- Workshop productivity and standards
- MOT testing when required
- Assisting with mechanical/diagnostic work when required
- All AEDM responsibilities and maintaining DVSA compliance
This is a hands-on management position, particularly while we continue building the team around you.
THE CENTRE
This isn't an old garage that's had a quick refurb.
We've invested over £1.2 million into a bespoke MOT and service facility.
Everything is brand new:
- 2 ATL MOT bays
- 1 × Class 4, 5 & 7 ATL bay
- 1 × Class 4 ATL bay
- 7 × two-post lifts
- Brand-new compressor and workshop equipment
- Air and electrical connections at every ramp

As our customer base has grown, so has the demand from existing customers for us to provide MOTs, servicing and mechanical repairs.

So although the centre is new, the customer base isn't.
